 In The Beginning: The Japan Years 80s

The Music Makers Entertainment Company Consisted of DJ Desi Ray aka DJ Desmond hails from Manhattan NYC and along with DJ Larry Outlaw from Sumter, South Carolina, they Started out in the early '80s in Yokosuka Japan as a Mobile DJ/MC Music Service That grew into a small show production company Promoting and working with such Acts as, The Manhattans, Rose Royce, and The Cast from the Classic Hip Hop Movie from “Wild Style” featuring Busy Bee, Fab 5 Freddy, DJ Charlie Chase, The Cold Crush Crew, Prince Whipper Whip and Devious Doze from The World Famous BBoy Break Dancers “Rock Steady Crew”  Music Makers also promoted and orchestrated The Movie Cast Of “Breakin’  Shabadoo and Boogaloo Shrimp In Tokyo Yokosuka Naval Base, and Throughout Japan.   

DJ Desi Ray was asked to Produce the Music Tracks for the very first Break Dance Instructional Video in Japanese by The Funky Jam Breakers led by Master Kozo Asokusan. Those tracks were later released on Japan's RCA / Victor Record Company.

The California Years: 90's

DJ Desi Ray Moved to San Diego Ca. to Pursue a Radio Career at The Highly Popular RNB Station Hot! 92.5 FM XHRM owned by Willie Morrow the creator of The Afro Comb and The California Curl Hair Products during the late 80s and 90s.  Desi Ray Became a full-time DJ-Mixologist with his own Daily Mix Show "The Traffic Jam" and weekend Master Mixx Dance Party Shows as one part of the Famous DJ Duo known as the “Power House II” with DJ Gil. They went on to form "Power House Records" an Independent record company distributed by Macola Records and later Capital Records.  They began producing, recording and promoting their own music and other local California acts, including their group DBX feat. DJ Desi Ray became an assistant Promoter under Wayne Reynolds Owner of the Prestigious “Top Flight Entertainment” A Regional Concert Promotion Company out of San Diego, Ca. where he and DJ Gil were groomed as assistants in concert promoting, production, and stage management for live concerts with legendary artist, i.e.  Lisa Lisa and The Cult Jam, The Jets, Johnny O, Timmy T, Cover girls, Expose, Stevie B, LA Dream Team, Fat Boys, Barry White, Gladys Knight, Alexander O’Neal, The Furious Five, World Class Wrecking Crew, Dr. Dre, Young MC, Tone Loc, CIA (with Sir Jinx and Ice Cube), Eazy E / Ruthless Records, Whistle, Candy Man, Too Short, Kurtis Blow and MC Hammer, the list goes on. 

In the Late 80’s DJ, DJ Desi Ray and DJ Gil Became Television DJ/VJ’s alongside Cleveland's Own Media Personality Frankie Lane for The Hit HIP HOP TV Show “Music In Motion Music Video Show” on KTTY and throughout Southern California. Which led to his involvement in introducing Paula Jackson to produce a music video for MC Hammer  Called “Let’s Get it Started.  (you can find that music video on youtube)

The Cali to Japan to Korean Years: 2000's to current

With continued Radio Success and Show Producing under his Belt Desi then went on to become an established Entertainment Consultant and Club Programmer throughout Japan and Korea,  While back in Asia Desi co-produced and assisted on a multitude of live acts, such as; Naughty By Nature, Soul Asylum, Jorge Santana, Silk, CC Penniston, Chery "Pepsi" Riley, Warrant, Quiet Riot, Brian Howe of Bad Company, Bobby Kimball, Coolio, Kid Ink, Nelly, Sick Pupp3s, Desiigner, Hunter Hayes, Darryl Worley, and Papa Roach and more...

Music Makers Asia / DJ Desi Ray co-produced and assisted Trivecca Music Group with such acts as, Sean Paul, Don Omar, Shaggy, Skid Row, Nina Sky, Brian Mcknight, and Melissa Morgan,  Desi has provided Technical Show Productions with Pac Int'l Entertainment Co. for Sinbad, Joe Torrey, Tommy Davidson, Zapp, Grammy Award Winner John Cruz, Journey "Unauthorized" Band and Korean KPop Music Groups Cubanism, Psy Tribute Show, "KOLA" and "Karmin"
